The Eventuri Audi 8Y RS3 Black Carbon Intake System is a complete high-flow induction system engineered specifically for Audi's turbocharged 2.5 TFSI five-cylinder engine. Developed using extensive flow bench testing, intake temperature logging, and real-world validation, the system substantially increases airflow capacity while maintaining a sealed cold-air architecture designed to control intake temperatures under sustained load.
Flow testing demonstrates the difference between the Eventuri system and the factory 8Y RS3 intake. The factory intake flows approximately 530 CFM, while the Eventuri system increases airflow capacity to approximately 840 CFM. This significant reduction in intake restriction allows the turbocharger to draw air more efficiently and provides the airflow capacity required for applications ranging from stock vehicles to builds exceeding 1,000 wheel horsepower.
On stock-turbo vehicles, Eventuri reports performance gains of approximately 15-20 horsepower and 13-18 ft-lb of torque. In addition to increased power potential, the reduced restriction is designed to improve turbocharger efficiency and throttle response, with the benefits becoming increasingly important as boost pressure and airflow demand rise.
At the center of the system is Eventuri's patented Venturi filter housing, manufactured entirely from pre-preg carbon fiber with no fiberglass incorporated into the construction. The carbon manufacturing process creates a smooth internal surface designed to reduce turbulence as air transitions from the oversized filter into the intake tube. A bespoke 210mm dry cone filter provides more than 130,000 mm² of filtration surface area, supplying the system with the filter capacity required to support its increased airflow.
From the Venturi housing, airflow travels through a smooth 103mm internal diameter carbon fiber intake tube toward the turbo inlet. The large cross-sectional area and gradual curvature are designed to maintain airflow velocity while minimizing restriction and abrupt changes in direction throughout the intake tract.
Cold-air delivery is handled by a sealed carbon fiber inlet duct that draws ambient air from the factory front slam panel area. Eventuri also incorporates an elevated secondary opening behind the hood, significantly increasing the amount of ambient air available to the filter. According to Eventuri, this secondary feed provides airflow capacity equivalent to an additional 7-inch diameter air source while retaining the thermal benefits of a sealed intake system.
A dedicated gold reflective heat shield further reduces radiant heat transfer from the surrounding engine bay. By combining increased airflow capacity, a sealed cold-air supply, thermal shielding, and Eventuri's patented Venturi housing into one coordinated system, the 8Y RS3 intake is engineered to support both factory and significantly higher-output 2.5 TFSI applications.
