The AMS Performance Inline Fuel Pulsation Damper is the solution to unwanted fuel system noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) caused by fuel line hammering in high-performance applications. What Is Fuel Line Hammering?
Fuel line hammering, also known as fuel pulsation NVH, or fuel line knock, is a rhythmic ticking or knocking noise caused by pressure spikes within the fuel system. These spikes are often the result of the rapid opening and closing of fuel injectors or the operation of a high-pressure fuel pump, both of which can generate shock waves that resonate through the fuel lines. This issue can occur at idle or become more pronounced at certain RPMs, depending on engine load and fuel system components and plumbing. It’s particularly common in high-performance modified setups where fuel flow dynamics are more aggressive. Symptoms may include audible noise, fluctuating fuel pressure readings, and potentially increased stress on fuel system components. The AMS Performance Inline Fuel Pulsation Damper is specifically engineered to absorb these pressure pulses, reducing noise, stabilizing fuel pressure, and promoting smoother, more consistent engine performance.

- While the AMS Inline Fuel Pulsation Damper is technically a universal component, it was developed for, and has only been tested on, Nissan’s VR30DDTT engine with AMS Performance High Pressure Fuel Pump upgrades. Your fuel pulsation damping results may vary.
- The AMS Inline Fuel Pulsation Damper configuration has been optimized to fit with the AMS line of VR30DDTT High Pressure Fuel Pumps, fuel lines, filter kits, and other fuel system components. Usage of the AMS Inline Fuel Pulsation Damper with other brand fuel system components may require custom fitting or custom fuel line creation. Please reference our installation guide for general fitment recommendations for non-AMS component systems or universal installations.

- Warning/Danger: Serious risk of fire, explosion, bodily injury including resulting death, and engine, vehicle, and other property damage. This fuel system component must be installed and removed only by a qualified motorsport technician. The technician also must be trained in how to install and remove this component from this specific vehicle. The technician must not participate in any activity that would be considered a catalyst for ignition while installing or removing this component and must read the installation instructions before installation or removal.
Returns may be accepted within 14 days of purchase pending Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA). No returns or cancellations on special order items. All returns will be charged a 20% restocking fee, no exceptions.
To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging. Item must be able to be resold as new.
Several types of goods are exempt from being returned. Hazardous materials, fluids, greases, chemicals, and clothing are not able to return.
Free shipping is available within the lower 48 states for most orders totaling $199 or more. A free shipping option will be available during checkout. This offer is for delivery address in the continental United States and excludes shipments going to Alaska, Hawaii, Military Boxes, and items that require freight shipping.
